About to graduate
It's time to graduate... Congratulations!
One of the most exciting moments in your undergraduate career is receiving your degree. So how can you be sure to get to this moment without any last-minute problems? Follow the steps below for a carefree walk across stage…
-
Check that you have met all degree requirements
Use the appropriate Course Inventory Forms from your home department/school or the Undergraduate Calendar as a guide. Go through your unofficial transcript before your last year and make sure your fourth-year courses will fulfill your remaining requirements. If you have any questions be sure to speak with your academic advisor.
- Complete an Intention to Graduate form (.pdf)
- Confirm your address on Quest
It is important to confirm that your mailing and home address, as well as your current email address, are accurate on Quest.
Other things to consider before you graduate
Get your grad photos taken
Graduating students must sign-up online to make an appointment for their grad photos. (The site is usually available 2-3 weeks before the appointment period). You will be sent an email with the dates of the grad photo sessions.
Grad Class Challenge
Before you move on to the next steps in your lives, take a few moments to leave your mark on the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences. What better way to do that than help out the current and future AHS students.
Giving back is easy through the Grad Class Challenge! Support AHS by making a one-time donation of $20.XX (reflecting your year of graduation, e.g., graduating class of 2011 donates $20.11) when a UW student-caller contacts you after convocation.
Help plan your grad formal
If you are interested in helping out with the Grad Committee, watch for posters in BMH or contact Student Services.
The AHS Grad Formal is held during your 4B (winter) term.
Convocation
UW holds two convocations each year - one in mid-June and the other in late October. Convocation information is available on the Registrar's Office convocation website, including what time you must arrive, where to pick up your gown, where the receptions are held, etc
AHS holds a pre-convocation reception prior to all AHS convocation ceremonies. Invitations are sent out to all graduating students.
The graduating class nominates a valedictorian
The Valedictorian Nomination form (.doc) will be submitted to the Faculty Undergraduate and Events Coordinator.
