Hydrogen: The University of Waterloo Alternative Fuels Team (UWAFT) is passionate about building cleaner and more efficient vehicles. Currently, students at UWAFT are re-engineering a General Motors (GM)-donated vehicle into a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle as part of the EcoCAR Challenge. Since this vehicle is powered by hydrogen, the only emission is water vapour! UWAFT asked six different high schools to participate in a competition to design the hydrogen tile on UWAFT's behalf. The winning design came from Vishesh Thanki, a high school student at Fletcher Meadows Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario, for his skilful incorporation of the hydrogen EcoCAR into this design.
