CHEM 494 (Research Project)
CHEM 494A and CHEM 494B are to be taken in separate terms. This is the expected timeframe. Any other arrangement needs to be discussed with the chair of Chemistry who is responsible for CHEM 494. Under no circumstances will CHEM 494A and CHEM 494B be permitted to be taken in the same term if the student has a full academic load. Other restrictions may also apply.
CHEM 494 orientation session
The next CHEM 494 orientation session will be held in September, 2012. Date yet to be determined.
Spring term presentations
Chem 494 presentations will take place on Monday, July 23rd, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in C2-361. All students registered in Chem 494A/B (Spring 2012 term only) and those registered in Chem 494A (Winter 2012) and Chem 494B (Spring 2012) will be required to make a presentation. Please note date/time on your calendars.
Interim reports
For students taking CHEM 494A (Spring 2012) CHEM 494B (Fall 2012): your interim report is due on Monday, September 17th, 2012 by 4:00 pm; two copies of the report should be submitted to Janice Campbell (Chemistry Office, C2 280).
For students taking CHEM 494A/B (Spring 2012), your interim report is due on Monday, June 11, 2012 by 4:00 pm; two copies of the report should be submitted to Janice Campbell (Chemistry Office, C2 280).
For students taking CHEM 494A (Fall 2012) and CHEM 494B (Winter 2013): your interim report is due on Monday, January 14th, 2013 by 4:00 pm to Janice Campbell (Chemistry Office, C2 280). Two bound copies will be required at the time of submission.

Final reports
As per university policy, all course work must be completed and submitted by the last official day of classes. Therefore, the deadline for final reports is as follows:
For students taking CHEM 494A (Spring 2012) and CHEM 494B (Fall 2012): your final report will be due on Monday, December 3th, 2012 to Janice Campbell (Chemistry Office, C2 280); by 4:00 pm. Two bound copies will be required at the time of submission.
For students taking CHEM 494A/B (Spring 2012 term only): your final report will be due on Monday, July 30th, 2012 to Janice Campbell (Chemistry Office, C2 280); by 4:00 pm. Two bound copies will be required at the time of submission.
For students taking CHEM 494A (Fall 2012) and CHEM 494B (Winter 2013): your final report is due on Monday, April 8, 2013 to Janice Campbell (Chemistry Office, C2 280) by 4:00 pm. Two bound copies will be required at the time of submission.

Seminar day
CHEM 494 seminar day will be held in March 2013. The exact date is yet to be determined.
SOUSCC
The Southwestern Ontario Undergraduate Student Chemistry Conference (SOUSCC) was held at the University of Guelph on Saturday, March 24, 2012. The details about SOUSCC 2013 will be provided when they become available.
