Counselling Services Advisory Committee

The Counselling Services Advisory Committee (CSAC) was formed in 1996 in a response to the recommendation of the Student Services Advisory Committee (SSAC) that Counselling Services submit a proposal outlining plans and possibilities for greater student involvement in priority setting.

The CSAC is composed of students from various University of Waterloo faculties and programs whose focus is to provide feedback and input on the functioning of Counselling Services.

Meetings cover information about current services offered by Counselling Services. Typically, at each meeting, a guest speaker from Counselling Services provides information about a particular service area. Committee members ask questions and give feedback. Opportunity is also provided for feedback about general concerns. Service areas include the following:

  • Study skills program
  • Career development
  • Personal counselling
  • International Student Office (ISO)
  • Counselling Services (scheduling, gerneral infomation and advertising)

Meetings are held the last Monday of every month from September-June (December excluded). The meetings are attended by Counselling Services staff members and student representatives from a broad spectrum of the campus population.

If you require further information about the committee or have feedback you wish to share regarding Counselling Services, please contact Tom Ruttan, Director, Counselling Services by e-mail or by calling Counselling Services at (519)-888-4556 Ext. 2655.
