Clinical Psychologist - Counselling & Psychological Services - USG 13 - Job I.D. 1757
regular full-time, 35 hours a week

 PhD in Clinical Psychology and Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Several years’ experience as a Clinical Psychologist providing individual and group psychotherapy, psychological and psycho-educational assessment and crisis management triage. Demonstrated experience utilizing evidence based best practice strategies with an adolescent/emerging adult population. Expertise working with a broad range of psycho-social goals with a thorough understanding of developmental issues of late adolescence and emerging adulthood, especially in the areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, substance use and addictions, and personality disorders. Extensive experience providing psychotherapy within a solid framework in issues of diversity and oppression, including the influences of race, ethnicity, class, culture, age, gender, ability and sexual orientation is necessary. Experience in a liaison role with other campus departments and faculties. Previous experience delivering workshops. Ability to work independently as well as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a very demanding varied environment. Excellent organizational, communication, representational and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to engage in psychotherapy in a second language is a definite asset. There will be some evening and on-call hours required

Masters degree or higher in counselling or related profession. Extensive experience providing individual and group counselling for personal/social issues within a post secondary environment. Proven expertise and experience in a crisis management triage role. Experience working with a broad range of psycho-social goals with a thorough understanding of developmental issues of late adolescence, especially in the areas of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, relationships and personality disorders. In addition, demonstrated ability to work independently in a professional setting separate from the main counselling centre. Counselling experience regarding issues of diversity and oppression, including the influences of race, ethnicity, class, culture, age, gender, ability and sexual orientation is necessary. Proven ability to deliver short term counselling within a defined number of sessions to a population of students, staff and faculty. Proven ability to develop and deliver workshops for faculty, staff and students. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a team member in a very busy and varied environment. Experience in a liaison role with other campus departments and faculties is necessary. Excellent organizational, communication, representational and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to communicate in a second language a significant asset. This is a permanent full time position (35 hrs/week). There will be some on-call and evening hours required.
