Wednesday, September 11, 2013

Pearl Sullivan, dean of Waterloo Engineering, and professors Frank Gu of chemical engineering and Maud Gorbet of systems design engineering will travel across the country beginning September 25 to promote the Faculty's engineering graduate studies programs and spread the word about the need for specialized trained leaders in engineering.

They are part of Re:Engineering Leadership, a joint initiative of the University of Waterloo, University of Alberta, University of British Columbia, McGill University and University of Toronto. Five on-campus events at the participating universities will showcase the opportunities and need for postgraduate engineering leadership in Canada, with a panel of leading experts from each university.

The Waterloo event takes place October 1. A special University of Calgary event to be held October 9 will feature Gu, the Canada Research Chair in Advanced Targeted Delivery Systems. He will speak about advances in water treatment and oil sands through nanotechnology research
