Looking for writing help?
At the Writing Centre, professional instructors provide a range of services at no charge to help students improve their writing.
Writing Centre tutors provide professional, confidential, and free help to University of Waterloo grad students who want to improve their writing.
Janne Janke is the graduate services coordinator.
Please note: The graduate Writing Centre is a teaching service, not an editing/proofreading service. Tutors meet with students one on one, review sections of their work in progress (e.g., research papers, articles for publication, theses), explain various points of english grammar and punctuation in conjunction with the errors that appear in the students' writing, and offer suggestions how to correct/improve their writing. We do not offer tutorials online nor do we edit/proofread research papers, articles for publication, or theses, electronically. Our goal is to improve students' proofreading skills during the course of their tutorials in the graduate writing centre.
