Knowledge Integration
The Knowledge Integration program is more than a traditional arts and science program. It is the ideal program for creative, motivated students who prefer not to identify a major in their first year.
Develop your broad interests
The goal of Knowledge Integration is to equip students of high potential and broad interests to become thoughtful citizens, ethical leaders, and innovative researchers. You'll compare the methods and problem-solving tools of different disciplines, and research a unique transdisciplinary topic of your choosing.
In this program you'll combine your unique interests and strengths to:
- Solve complex problems by connecting ideas, discipline, and specialists.
- Practice effective collaboration: leadership and teamwork.
- Conduct independent research before you've even graduated.
- Personalize your degree to prepare for professional programs or graduate school.

Experience Knowledge Integration
We met up with a number of current Knowledge Integration students and asked them to share their thoughts about the program.
Check out some video clips of our discussion and experience the program through the eyes of our students.
Real world experiences
The centrepiece of third year is The Museum Course, a design project course where you and a small group of classmates will design a museum exhibit -- traditional or interactive, textual or visual, tangible or virtual -- on a transdisciplinary topic of your choice.
The Museum Course begins with a field trip to a major museum city, and culminates in public talks and an exhibition of the projects.
Possible career paths
With your Bachelor of Knowledge Integration you will be able to pursue a variety of career paths including:
- medicine
- law
- education
- graduate studies
- business
- public service
Challenge yourself
Knowledge Integration students put their thinking skills to the test when they were presented with a rather interesting assignment during one of their core Integration classes. Their goal - link together two seemingly unrelated pieces of information
Check out some of our students' creative responses and let us know what connections you find.
