Student life

As a student in the Faculty of Environment, you'll be:

  • Engaged - there are endless ways for you to get involved. You can join groups and clubs like the Environment Students Society and residence council or become a student ambassador, a don, or an orientation leader.
  • Entertained - Waterloo is packed with entertainment. Whether you're looking for a mall, movie theatre, restaurant or bar, it's all here - and within a 15 minute bus ride!
In good company - Not that UW isn't big enough already, you'll have Wilfrid Laurier University and Conestoga College right down the street!
  • Fit - as a student at UW you have free unlimited access to our gyms along with a huge selection of intramural activities. For those of you who love nature, you're probably well aware of how beautiful our campus is but you may not know that in less than a ten minute walk you can find yourself strolling through Waterloo Park.

Living in Waterloo

Why is Waterloo such a great place to study and live in?

  • It's one of the fastest growing communities in Canada.
  • Not only will you be studying the environment, but you'll be part of an environmentally innovative community.
  • You'll never be bored, from movies to paintballing to fine dining, there's always something to do around the city.

If you're thinking about living in residence, you'll want to check out our Environment Living Learning Community.

Want to experience campus for yourself? Book a campus tour or if can't make it out to visit our campus, take a virtual tour!
