Hagey Funspiel
Some of us are looking forward to enjoying the 'wonders of winter' while others are hunkering down to endure three more months of frigid temperatures. Whichever group you belong to, we've got an event that'll put a smile on your face and brighten a winter's day: So, round up a friend or two and come on and join us for a day of fun and laughs. This event is all about having fun and is not competitive in any way. Most participants have either never curled before or this is the only time all year that they test their skills on the 'frozen rings'. The 40th Annual UW Hagey Curling Bonspiel! lease join us for a day of food, drink, camaraderie ... oh, and some curling! Saturday February 25, 2012-Ayr Curling Club Price $30.00 (includes the HST) Two Draws - 9:30 am and 11:30 am (Includes morning snack, lunch, snack and 2 6-end games)

University of Waterloo Brain Bee
The kinesiology department will host the fourth annual Brain Bee for high school students in Waterloo Region and surrounding areas. The event, open to students in Grades 9 to 12, is one of many Brain Bees scheduled across Canada this winter. The contest raises awareness about neuroscience by challenging students to answer questions about the brain. Students must register by Feb. 10th. At the competition, they'll answer multiple-choice questions anonymously using clicker technology. They will compete for first- and second-place prizes ($400.00 and $100.00 respectively), with the winner moving on to the national Brain Bee competition in the spring.
