When to arrive

Find your move-in date(s) listed below for the fall 2014 term.

Incoming First-year students

Are you either straight-out-of-high school or new to post-secondary education? You're considered an incoming first-year undergraduate student at uWaterloo.

Upper-year and Exchange students

  • Sunday, August 31, 8 am

Upper-year and Exchange students may begin moving in on Sunday, August 31, after 8 am. You have until the first day of classes to move into your residence.

Graduate stud​ents

  • Monday, September 1, 8:30 am

Please arrive between 8:30 am and 12 midnight on Monday, September 1, to pick up your keys at the CLV Front Desk.
 

Note: Grad students are not eligible for early arrival as contracts end the day before the new contract term begins. We have provided a list of temporary/short term accommodations for those who need housing before the first day of the month.

Need to arrive earlier or later than your scheduled move-in date?

Remember, students are not allowed to move into residence early, except under very specific situations.

Traffic alert!

The City of Waterloo is undergoing several road construction projects that may affect your route to the University of Waterloo. 

» Find an alternate route

Be sure to find an alternate route to campus and be prepared for possible delays.

Early arrivals

The earliest you can arrive is Saturday, August 30, at 8:30 am and only if you meet the following criteria:

  • If you live out of province or country; or
  • other extenuating circumstances.

In order to qualify for early move-in you must submit your form by Monday, August 25, and receive a confirmation email from the Residence Life Co-ordinator.

Late arrivals

You have until 12 noon on the first day of classes (Monday, September 8) to move into your residence room or your contract will be cancelled. To avoid a cancellation you will need to submit a Late Arrival Form.

If you do not submit the form you will lose your $500 deposit.
