Meal Plan Changes

  • To add or change your winter meal plan visit your
room assignment page. Some changes must be made
    through the WatCard Office.

  • If you live in either V1 or REV, your current meal plan
    will automatically be applied.
  • If you live in a suite-style residence, your meal plan
is optional and will not be applied automatically - you will
need to add the meal plan of your choice.

The meal plan allowance is referred to as "Residence Meal Plan Allowance" (RMPA) for required meal plans and "Value Plus Meal Plan Allowance" (VPMP) for optional meal plans.

Your meal plan allowance can be used to buy food items at any food services eatery on campus. Flex dollars can be spent on additional on-campus services such as vending machines, laundry, textbooks, or purchasing food or other items at participating off-campus locations.

Each meal plan also carries certain discounts and tax exemptions on items purchased. Please visit the food services website for details.

Required Meal Plans

REV and Village 1

In Ron Eydt Village and Village 1 meal plans are required. This is because there are no cooking facilities in the residence areas and you are expected to eat most of your meals in the on-site cafeterias.

Which meal plan should I choose?

It all depends on your eating habits, how often you go home or away for the weekend, and whether you want to include some flex dollars. Most students will choose the "average" option. If you have money left over at the end of the year you can carry it over to the next term. Similarly, if you run out of money you can add flex dollars to your WatCard at any time.

To find out more about required meal plans, visit Food Services website.

Optional Value Plus Meal Plans

Mackenzie King Village, UW Place, Minota Hagey
and Columbia Lake Village

If you live in Mackenzie King Village, UW Place, Minota Hagey and Columbia Lake Village you will have access to shared kitchen facilities and will be able to make your own food. If you want to you can purchase an optional Value Plus Meal Plan and buy some of your meals at Food Services eateries and flex dollars locations.
