What is a Peer Leader?
Peer Leaders are upper-year students who are academic mentors for students in the Living-Learning Community. Each Living-Learning Community has Peer Leaders from the relevant program (i.e. the Arts and Business Living-Learning Community has Peer Leaders who are upper-year Arts and Business students).
The Living-Learning team is now hiring Peer Leaders for the fall 2012 and winter 2013 terms!
As a Peer Leader you'll
- develop 1-1 relationships with the eight to fifteen students in your cluster
- share your academic experience with students in your cluster
- organize academic enrichment activities for students (i.e. dinner with a prof, study session for a core course)
- refer students to campus resources (i.e. academic advisors, Counselling Services)
- encourage students to take advantage of resources and get engaged with campus life
- build connections with faculty, alumni, and other upper-year students
We're looking for candidates who
- have excellent communication, teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking skills
- enjoy and are successful in their academic program
- genuinely want to help other students
We hire Peer Leaders for the following Living-Learning Communities:
- Health Studies (read the description)
- Recreation and Leisure (read the description)
- Biology, Physical Sciences (read the description)
- Arts and Business (read the description)
- Accounting (read the description)
- China 2+2

Selection Process
The Selection Process is comprised of several stages.
- An online application (complete with resume) must be completed for each candidate.
- Selected candidates will be invited to attend a personal interview.
- All candidates will be notified of their status following the personal interview process.
