Marketing Advisory Board

Let your thoughts be heard! The Marketing Advisory Board is a group put together to help the Department of Housing and Residences with our marketing campaigns. MAB members have the opportunity to share their insights, opinions, and ideas on Housing marketing strategies. Ideas and suggestions from the group are used to improve and implement future marketing efforts. Meetings are held about twice a month for one hour each and food is provided. This is a great way to get involved, meet new people, get some experience for your resume, share your opinions and truly make an impact!

Residence Council

Residence council (similar to student council in high school), is the representative voice for all students living in UW Residences. Council seeks to provide programs and activities that meet the needs and interests of residents. The goals of the council are to enrich the residence life experience and to build a stronger uWaterloo community.

Council is made up of an executive team (President, Vice-Presidents for each residence community, Secretary, Treasurer, Food Services liaison, Communications Co-ordinator) and representatives from each floor or house in residence. Elections for executive positions take place at the first meeting each term.

House or Floor Council

Each house or floor also elects a council to plan events and activities for the floor, house, or area to help build friendships and a sense of community among residents. Talk to your Don when you move in to express interest and find out what opportunities will be available.

Maximize Potential Certificate Program

Students who are thinking about getting involved in Housing's upper year leadership opportunities (Dons, Peer Leaders, Front Desk Assistants) will benefit greatly from completing this certificate program. The Maximize Potential program provides an opportunity for residence students to enhance their first year experience by attending fun, engaging and educational programming. By completing this certificate you will maximize your year!
