Event Information and Proposals

Each term the Residence Council is responsible for running a minimum of 3 events for the students living in residence. The councils will have a budget (dependant on the number of students living in residence that term) to run the events. In the past, successful events have included: coffee house/talent show, Halloween dance/haunted house, fundraisers for charities, shopping trips to Toronto and a Charity Ball.

Event Proposals

Residence Council members or students living in residence can attend general council meetings and propose an event for the council to run. These events will generally be decided at the beginning of each term and money from the budget will be allocated to each event as seen necessary from the council.

Residence Life Dons can also propose events to Council for their help with sponsoring the event. Generally Dons will come to the Council with an event idea and need the monetary support to make the event happen. As mentioned above, each term the Residence Council has a budget to run their main events and any funds that remain are available to be distributed to Dons for event proposals. The amount available for Residence Council to allocate to events varies each term and depends on the main events and their costs. All of the money given for event proposals must directly impact the students living in residence this term. Please note that the Village Council and UWP Council have separate budgets and all proposals must be submitted independently for each of the councils.
