Recreation and Leisure Studies Living-Learning Community

Want a dynamic environment where your floormates share your passion for Recreation and the benefits it brings to improving peoples' quality of life?

In the Recreation and Leisure Living-Learning Community, you will live in Ron Eydt Village with other first-year Reccers building important relationships with people who share similar values and interests. In addition to living with and learning from your peers, you will also have support from your Peer Leader – an upper-year Recreation and Leisure Studies student who has succeeded in our program and can support and guide you to the individuals and resources you need to make your first year a successful one.

Read a student profile and learn what it is like to live in a Living-Learning Community or to be a Peer Leader:

>> Nicole, Rec student
>> Sandy, Rec Peer Leader

Peer Leaders and planned events

Your Peer Leader will also organize programs that will enhance your in-class learning and help you understand more about the Recreation field. Examples of planned living-learning programs include:

  • academic enrichment activities such as research and resource and communication skills workshops
  • organized dinners with faculty members and alumni
  • study sessions for core courses
  • participation in AHS weCONNECTu events
