Student Computing Consultant program
Our Student Computing Consultant (SCC) program is a unique program that gives students the chance to work with computers in a networked environment. Our SCC's are able to help out their peers and gain hands on computing experience.
The SCC program will have 15-20 students staff positions available.

Student Computing Consultants:
- Help with the number of calls received by the ResNet office during move in week.
- Provide front line technical support on networking issues in student rooms.
- Help with virus & spyware removal.
- Allowed to move in earlier than the rest of the student body.
- Commitment of 40 hrs for move in week during the Fall term.
- Run comprehensive virus, spyware & root kit removal on student machines.
- Mandatory training session on August 26th - August 31st for Fall 2012.
- SCCs now also have the option to work while living off campus.
- Be part of the afterhours support structure for the Department.
- Compensated on an hourly basis for office hours, support calls, and live chat.
*Please note we have specific SCC suites available in Mackenzie King Village (MKV) and UW Place (UWP). If you applied for housing with roommate requests and you are selected to be an SCC, you will be placed with other SCCs and not with your requested roommates.
How can I become an SCC?
If you're going to be living in residence in an upcoming term and would like to be an SCC, please fill in the Student Computing Consultant Application making sure to attach a resume and cover letter.
All SCC candidates are required to participate in a special training session. We make arrangements for you to move in to your room early to accommodate this training and we will feed you on these days. Please do not apply if you can't make the training.
