Approved courses
Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) approved courses, are offered by partner disciplines and programs in the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Environment. Many of the 300- and 400-level courses have specific prerequisites. Students planning to pursue study in the upper-level courses should use their electives wisely to ensure that the prerequisites for these courses are met. Additions or deletions to this list may occur from time to time.
Where students find the list inadequate for their needs, students may petition (read the instructions for petition (PDF)) by emailing to PACS administration to have specific courses accepted as PACS approved courses. This should ideally happen before registration in the course in question is finalized. Normally only up to two courses may be petitioned per student per academic career.
The official list of PACS approved courses is updated annually in the University of Waterloo Undergraduate Studies Academic Calendar according to each academic plan. Here is a list for your convenience.
