Ask them if you can assist by contacting the Office for Persons with Disabilities.
The nature of a disability can sometimes be misunderstood which can increase the frustration and intensity of a crisis. The Office for Persons with Disabilities can give direct assistance in uncertain situations, or may know people who are close to the person who is in difficulty.
They will also contact other campus resources (Counselling Services, Health & Safety, and University of Waterloo Police) as needed.
