By overseeing UW's response to formal FIPPA Requests, UW's Freedom of Information and Privacy Coordinator assists the University in meeting its statutory obligations under the Act.

The Coordinator is assisted by FIPPA Liaison Officers in the Faculties and in large administrative units who serve as the primary contact in those units for identification of records and responding to requests for access to documents.

The Head of the Institution is responsible for decisions made under FIPPA by the University and for overseeing the administration of that Act within the institution. The President has delegated this responsibility to Marie Armstrong.
