Research interests

My research interests focus on safe, effective, and efficient medication use in older people, and finding new applications for pharmacists as a health care resource particularly in rural and smaller communities.  I also work with interprofessional team members on improving care delivery and expanding access to care in rural communities.  Recent projects have included pharmacist model of care for community dwelling patients with cognitive impairment; value of brown bag medication reviews for community dwelling older patients; developing an interprofessional health coaching program; feasibility of electronic patient communications for a rural family health team; and financial needs assessment related to chronic illnesses and aging for people entering retirement.
