Doug Seaborn was one of seven founders of SHL Systemhouse, Canada's first software company to complete an Initial Public Offering in 1984. Doug’s next company, GeoVision, defined and led enterprise scale Geographic Information Systems (GIS) deployments for telecommunications, gas, electric and water utilities in the United States, Europe and Australia in the decade ending 1993.

In 1995, Doug co-founded VMI Medical Systems, a provider of medical image and clinical information management software to help pediatric cardiologists to detect and treat congenital heart disease in children. VMI Medical was chosen as one of "Canada's Top 10 Life Science Companies" by the Ottawa Life Science Council in 1999.

During the next five years, in partnership with founder Omid McDonald, Doug led VMI Medical to market leadership position with 23 Children’s Heart Centers across the United States, 30 employees and $ 3-million dollars in annual sales by 2003.

In addition to building his companies, Doug has served as a member of the Mathematics Strategy Board at University of Waterloo, and served a six-year term as Chairman at the Riverside Hospital of Ottawa.

Since the sale of VMI Medical in 2003, Doug provides business transformation services to electric gas and telecom service providers. His IT knowledge, leadership and drive enables his clients to achieve lasting gains in customer service, asset utilization and profitability.
