Dr. Ray E. Clement
BSc '74, MSc, '76, PhD '81 (Chemistry)
As a student, Village Don, grad student rep, chemistry reunion planner, adjunct professor, researcher, student athletics and recreation champion, and employer who has hired over 200 students, Dr Clement is approaching a 40-year relationship with University of Waterloo. He has received awards from the Canadian Society for Chemistry, Ontario Society for Environmental Education, Government of Ontario, and the American Chemical Society based on his 160 scientific publications and reports, 170 conference presentations, and six books published. Dr Clement continues to show commitment to his profession by volunteering. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Environmental Careers Organization of Canada, the Ontario Society for Environmental Education, and is one of the founding Directors of the York Region Sci-Tech Fair, which he also serves as chief judge.
Other professional activities include service on editorial boards and reviewing hundreds of journal articles and grant proposals. Dr. Clement founded the international EnviroAnalysis conference, and frequently gives lectures to young professionals on job searching skills.
