Class notes: November 2009 Alumni updates

Retirement with a smile! Robert Paul (science) and his wife Lynda are enjoying their retirement as they travel the globe and attend to their hobby farm. Their grown children are fully engaged in their careers and families, giving them five grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way!

1977

Jenny de Zoete (chemistry) received her MAEd from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax and the Senate Award of Distinction for her thesis, Adapting the Undergraduate Chemistry Laboratory to Contemporary Learning Theory.  She welcomes anyone wishing to get a hold of her to do so through Mount Saint Vincent University.

1989

Although he has never worked a day in chemistry, Mark Coleman is still staying in touch with us! He is married with three children, 16, 14, 11 and lives in Minneapolis. He runs a private hedge fund specializing in stock index futures and commodities. Before that he worked with Accenture for 17 years in New York City. While here at Waterloo, Mark recalls Dr. Morris Tchir as his favourite professor.

Pedro Serrador dropped us a notice to let us know he has finished his part time MBA in 2000 and is currently working in the technology field as a program manager. He's also been seen around the Waterloo campus attending a variety of alumni events!

1993

Dan Oleskevich (physics) currently works in the high tech environment, specifically with the SMARTboard product in optical components for Education Corporate industries.

1997

Daniel Kwong (sci/bus) has a new job. He dropped us a line to let us know that he has been promoted to General Manager, Security Solutions for CPCNet. Congratulations!

1999

A biochemical bind! Trina Cosway sent us an update to let us know that she ended up marrying a fellow biochemistry alumnus, Brendan Filby. Way to go!

2004

Congratulations to Namarit Rai (science) who is now working in Brampton as a pharmacist. Namarit sent us an update on our online profile update form.
