Distinguished Alumni award

Nomination process

The Faculty of Science welcomes nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award from alumni, students, staff, retirees and members of the public. The nominees must hold University of Waterloo Science undergraduate and/or graduate degree(s). Preference will be given to those nominees who have had alumni status for a minimum of ten years.

Award criteria

The Faculty of Science has established the Distinguished Alumni Award to honour and recognize significant service, contribution and achievements of alumni. This prestigious award will be bestowed upon an alumnus who has demonstrated significant contribution(s) in one or more of the following areas:

  • Professional or Academic Achievement: recognizes the accomplishments of Waterloo Science alumni
  • Contributions to Community: recognizes the accomplishments of Waterloo Science alumni in volunteer leadership, humanitarian endeavours and community and public service

Award selection will be made by the Dean of the Faculty of Science or delegate, a Faculty member and a representative of the Alumni Services Office. Please note that current Waterloo employees are ineligible for award consideration.

Nomination process

The Faculty of Science welcomes nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award from alumni, students, staff, retirees and members of the public. The nominees must hold University of Waterloo Science undergraduate and/or graduate degree(s). Preference will be given to those nominees who have had alumni status for a minimum of ten years.

To nominate an alumnus for the Distinguished Alumni Award, a short online nomination form must be completed, including all mandatory fields, for an individual to be considered. Nominations will be accepted until April 30, 2011.
