Tremor from U.S. quake rattles region

On August 23, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck the area of Richmond, Virginia and was felt across the eastern United States and Canada, including Waterloo region.

Steve Evans, a professor in the department of earth and environmental sciences with expertise in natural disasters, was quoted in the Waterloo Region Record about the quake.
