Short-term summer programs
The following international short-term summer opportunities are available to University of Waterloo students.
Waterloo/Solidarity in Action Inc. (SIA) Peru Program
The Waterloo/SIA Peru Program is offered starting the Summer of 2012.
The University of Waterloo has partnered with Solidarity in Action, an international Canadian based not-for-profit social justice organization, to provide a service learning trip aimed towards social justice, spirituality, and community development projects in the developing country of Peru.
Additional program information is available, including volunteer placements, cultural activities, costs, application procedures, deadlines, and frequently asked questions.

Summer exchange programs
Most universities abroad do not operate on a trimester system like the University of Waterloo; therefore, an exchange for the entire Spring term is not available due to the semester dates abroad. However, short-term summer exchanges are available at the following host universities. These summer programs are administered on a home-fee paying basis.

| Chinese University of Hong Kong | Two programs are available that you can apply for individually or back-to-back: CUHK International Summer School (approximately 5 weeks between June-August) & Chinese Language Programme (approximately 4 weeks in August). | Andreea Ciucurita |

Note: these programs can not be completed back-to-back since they are offered within the same time frame. |
