Organized by a growing group of faculty, staff and students across the University of Waterloo, 16 Days is dedicated to creating actions and events for the elimination of any form of gender-based violence.
16 Days at Waterloo 2019 was brought together by the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response and Communications and Engagement departments of the Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion.
From the UN Women:
From 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day, the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world. The international campaign originated from the first Women's Global Leadership Institute coordinated by the Center for Women's Global Leadership in 1991. Read more on UN Women.
