DESCRIPTION:Among the legislated responsibilities of the university\, we ar
 e\nrequired to provide a safe environment for learning and working and\no
 ne which is free from discrimination\, harassment\, and violence and\nto
  accommodate students who have a disability. It is important for\nleaders 
 of academic units and supervising employees\, and those\nworking directl
 y with students to understand what it means to meet\nthese obligations. In
  this session\, we will learn about two sets of\nresponsibilities. Kate Wi
 ndsor\, Director of Safety will discuss the\nrole of units in ensuring com
 pliance with legislation\, programs and\nstandards\, particularly POLICY 
 34 AND THE HEALTH\, SAFETY AND\nENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (HSEMS). Je
 nnifer\nGillies\, Vice Associate Provost\, Campus Support and Accessibi
 lity\nwill build awareness around our obligations stemming from\nthe ONT
 ARIO HUMAN RIGHTS CODE\, the ACCESSIBILITY FOR ONTARIANS WITH\nDISABILITI
 ES ACT\, and other statutory requirements\, noting the\nsupports available
  to uphold these requirements\, describe our duty to\naccommodate as defi
 ned by the ONTARIO HUMAN RIGHTS CODE\, and the\nlimits to student accommo
