Cheetah
Ever wonder how blood gets up to a giraffe’s head, how squishy earthworms manage to dig in hard ground or how much stronger the hyena’s bite is than a human’s?  The University of Waterloo is partnering with the Ontario Science Centre to give visitors a hands-on look at the science behind these and many other marvels of natural engineering that drive human and animal movement at Biomechanics: The Machine Inside, a special exhibition.

Alumni Relations is pleased to host a day of special activities and a private lunch for all registered alumni and guests.

Special activities include:

  • EMG Muscle Car - Learn about how we measure muscle activity and observe a fun demonstration where we use our own muscle activity to remotely steer a toy vehicle - our Muscle Car!

  • Lunch activities

    • Dexterity Duel - Quick with your hands? See how quick you are stacking cups during our Dexterity Duel! Visitors will see how sensory information plays an important part in everyday life tasks when using hands.

    • Brain HatsLearn about the brain while colouring in your free brain hat (while supplies last).
