At the Arts House in Singapore, on November 9th 2011, the University of Waterloo Singapore Alumni Chapter and Canadian Alumni Singapore co-hosted an evening with University of Waterloo president Feridun Hamdullahpur and Mr. Greg Wade, Regional Managing Director-East Asia, Research In Motion (RIM). Guests and alumni were treated to a thoughtful and engaging panel discussion on the topic "What Does Innovation Mean?"

On November 7th 2011, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong and the University of Waterloo were proud to host a luncheon featuring University of Waterloo alumnus Jason Chiu (BASc '94), CEO of Cherrypicks, speaking on the mobile marketing revolution. Alumni and guests were treated to campus updates and amazing insights into the future of mobile applications.

On November 4th 2011, the Hong Kong Alumni Association hosted more than 240 University of Waterloo alumni for their annual Alumni Networking Dinner in Hong Kong. Their largest event to date was also attended by University of Waterloo staff, faculty and President Feridun Hamdullahpur who brought updates from campus and news of the new University of Waterloo Hong Kong office.

At the Maple Leaf Pub in Houston on October 18th 2011, more than 80 alumni from 20 different Canadian universities met for the "Passport to Canadian Beer" event, sponsored by the Canadian Club of Houston and coordinated by the McGill Alumni Houston Chapter. We were thrilled that so many University of Waterloo alumni were able to make it out! Please email us if you're interested in future events in the Houston area.

On October 15th, the New York area chapter coordinated their annual University of Waterloo team for the 2011 Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research in Central Park. Over 50 people participated in this year's run! After the run, alumni gathered at P.D. O'Hurley's Pub to reconnect and network over brunch.

A beautiful big blue sky and hot summer sun hovered over Calgary on Wildcard Saturday when a group of 40 University of Waterloo alumni, their family and friends took in the last day of qualification for the rodeo finals at the 99th version of the city's iconic Stampede.
This was the third event held by UWAC, following on the heels of last year's inaugural Oktoberfest and the 2011 Speedskating World Championships and by all accounts, another resounding success.

University of Waterloo grads celebrated Canada's birthday with the University of Waterloo at the sixth annual Canada Day in London celebration! Highlights included cooking demonstrations, hockey matches, dancing, performances by musicians such as Alex Cube, Karkwa, Blue Rodeo, and so much more.

The Consul General of Canada for San Francisco/Silicon Valley hosted the Sixth Annual Canada Day Reception at the Quadrus Conference Centre on June 29. University of Waterloo alumni enjoyed a line-up of top-notch speakers which inspired some Canadian goose bumps.
