Angela Pereira, BSc ‘95

A graduate of the honours Kinesiology program at the University of Waterloo, Angela has specialized in clinical assessment and the prescription of therapeutic exercise over the course of her career. Angela is the Founder and President of two companies: First Line Kinesiologists Inc. and First Line Education Inc. With First Line Kinesiologists Inc. Angela leads a team of kinesiologists providing clinical exercise rehabilitation and fitness services in Ontario. First Line Education Inc. is a continuing education company focused on improving the practical skills of health care professionals in the rehabilitation and fitness industries.

In 2010, Angela became a proud member of the University of Waterloo Alumni Council representing Applied Health Sciences. Over the past 10 years, Angela has been consistently acknowledged by the Institute for Work and Health (IWH) as an Educational Influential (EI) in the field of kinesiology.

Angela was a volunteer with the Ontario Kinesiology Association's (OKA) Board of Directors for over 10 years. She was closely involved in the successful effort to regulate the kinesiology profession in 2007. In 2010, Angela accepted the position of Vice President Communications with the Canadian Kinesiology Association (CKA). Also in 2010, Angela was asked to Chair the Program Advisory Committee for the Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences (Exercise Science and Health Promotion) program at Sheridan College. A regular presenter at colleges and universities in Ontario, Angela speaks on behalf of her companies and the OKA and CKA about the academic and professional sides of kinesiology to faculty, students and parents.

Angela's expertise in kinesiology practice has been featured in the Globe and Mail, and Elle Canada, Best Health, Chatelaine and Zoomer magazines.
