DESCRIPTION:In Amedeka\, Southeastern Ghana\, local tastes and their relate
 d\nperformances are conceptualized as “nkudzedze” – ‘pleasing to\n
 the eyes.’ This talk explores how the Amedeka conceptualization of\ntast
 e directed daily life\, the production and consumption of trade\ngoods and
  serves as a radical act to decentralize research\nmethodologies from the 
 Eurowestern gaze and colonial epistemologies\nthat continue to ‘otherize
 ’ local and Indigenous communities.
