The Health Computing Office has a dedicated team of Information Technology (IT) specialists who:
- Provide consultation on all aspects of computing to:
- faculty and staff;
- undergraduate and graduate students; and
- researchers.
- Manage and secure workstations in the Faculty of Health (including Nexus undergraduate and graduate student labs):
- OS and software distribution;
- software maintenance and upgrades;
- Endpoint Security Protection and Firewall configuration; and
- hardware maintenance and upgrades.
- Administer the faculty's network:
- workstation and server configuration; and
- switch maintenance and programming.
- Manage the faculty's servers:
- faculty NetApp servers;
- faculty Unix server; and
- approximately 15 research servers.
- Provide and manage the faculty's e-mail accounts:
- faculty and staff exchange accounts; and
- student e-mail accounts.
- Maintain the faculty's web server.
- Collaborate with other IT Units on campus on shared projects.
- All other items related to IT in the Faculty of Health.
