Mission

The Health Computing Office has a dedicated team of Information Technology (IT) specialists who:

  • Provide consultation on all aspects of computing to:
    • faculty and staff;
    • undergraduate and graduate students; and
    • researchers.
  • Manage and secure workstations in the Faculty of Health (including Nexus undergraduate and graduate student labs):
    • OS and software distribution;
    • software maintenance and upgrades;
    • Endpoint Security Protection and Firewall configuration; and
    • hardware maintenance and upgrades.
  • Administer the faculty's network:
    • workstation and server configuration; and
    • switch maintenance and programming.
  • Manage the faculty's servers:
    • faculty NetApp servers;
    • faculty Unix server; and
    • approximately 15 research servers.
  • Provide and manage the faculty's e-mail accounts:
    • faculty and staff exchange accounts; and
    • student e-mail accounts.
  • Maintain the faculty's web server.
  • Collaborate with other IT Units on campus on shared projects.
  • All other items related to IT in the Faculty of Health.
