Using AV equipment in BMH-2216

BMH-2216 has a TV with an HDMI connection and a Yamaha CS-700 Sound Collaboration system (support for speaker output, voice and video input).

  1. Power on the TV using the power button located on the back of the TV on the right side. The power button is the lowest button, separated slightly from the other buttons).
  2. Unravel the HDMI cable and connect it to your laptop HDMI port or an appropriate display converter.
  3. If you are using the sound bar, unravel and connect the USB cable from the sound bar and connect to a USB port on your computer. Then adjust your computer settings to use the Yamaha CS700 device for your video, microphone and speaker (see troubleshooting note below).

After your meeting, please wind the cables and secure with the velcro ties (as shown in the photo above).

Troubleshooting

The CS-700 sound collaboration system should just work but we have experienced situations when static comes through the speakers.

The first thing to try is to use a different USB port your the computer for the audio  

The second solution is to set the microphone level on your computer to no higher than 50%:

  1. Right click on the speaker icon in the lower right hand corner of the Windows taskbar.
  2. Select Sounds from the menu.
  3. Right click on the Yamaha CS-700 Device one more time.
  4. Select Properties from the menu.
  5. Click on the Levels tab.
  6. Set the Microphone level to 50.
  7. Click “OK”.
  8. Click “OK” to close the Sound Window.

If you continue to experience issues with sound quality when using your Windows computer, these complete one-time setup steps are recommended:

  1. Right click on the speaker icon in the lower right hand corner of the Windows taskbar.
  2. Select Sounds from the menu.
  3. Click the Playback tab.
  4. Right click on the Yamaha CS-700 Device.
  5. Select “Set as Default Device” from the menu.
  6. Right click on the Yamaha CS-700 Device again.
  7. Select “Set as Default Communication Device” from the menu.
  8. Right click on Yamaha CS-700 Device one more time.
  9. Select Properties from the menu.
  10. If there is an “Enhancements” tab, click on it.
    1. Check the “Disable all enhancements” box.
  11. Click on the Advanced tab.
  12. Select “2 channel, 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)” from the drop-down menu under Default Format.
  13. Click “Test.” You should hear the test jingle.
  14. Click “Apply”, then “OK”.
  15. Click the Recording tab.
  16. Right click on the Yamaha CS-700 Device.
  17. Select “Set as Default Device” from the menu.
  18. Right click on the Yamaha CS-700 Device again.
  19. Select “Set as Default Communication Device” from the menu.
  20. Right click on the Yamaha CS-700 Device one more time.
  21. Select Properties from the menu.
  22. Click on the Levels tab.
  23. Set the Microphone level to 50.
  24. Click “OK”.
  25. Click “OK” to close the Sound Window.
