This fun and entertaining fund-raising hockey game began in 2007 to commemorate our colleague and mentor who died after a courageous battle with cancer. Dr. Aftab Patla was a professor of Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo for 25 years with a research interest in health, aging and human movement.

Applied Health Sciences graduating students are invited to join special alumni guests Bob Hunter (BSc '76, Kinesiology), Janette Smith (BSc '87, Health), Charlie Johnstone (BA '90, Recreation and Business), their favourite AHS professors, and Dean Susan Elliott, as they offer congratulations and inspiring words of advice.
The University of Waterloo Brain Bee, hosted by the Department of Kinesiology, is a competition for students in grades 9 through 12 in the Region of Waterloo. Competitors answer questions about the brain and neuroscience, with the winner proceeding to the national brain bee competition. Registration is required.
