A 2018 opportunity is now extended to incoming 2019-2020 domestic, full-time, thesis-based master's and doctoral students based on academic excellence. Students are automatically considered for this funding by their department or school's graduate committee.
Funding is available for 30, $10,000 AHS graduate scholarships jointly funded by the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences and University of Waterloo Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs.
This funding exceeds the usual guaranteed funding rate for a term by ~$2500.
What you need to know:
- Students are not expected to hold Teaching Assistantships (TAs) or Research Assistantships (RAs) in the term for which the scholarship is applied.
- Only one scholarship per student, per year will be offered.
- Students who are successful in receiving external Tri-Council or Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS/QEII) funding will instead receive the University of Waterloo President’s Graduate Scholarship (PGS) of $10,000 per year on top of their external award and QEII recipients a $5,000 PGS.
- The AHS scholarship may be applied to Fall 2019, Winter 2020 or Spring 2020 terms.
