Susan Horton named Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada

Susan HortonSusan Horton, a professor in the School of Public Health and Health Systems, was one of two University of Waterloo researchers to be named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC).

Horton, jointly appointed iwth the Department of Economics, is known for her research on global health economics. The Office of Research notes that her work on economics of nutrition contributed significantly to successful efforts to emphasize nutrition investments in international policy, and that her current work on economics of cancer and diagnostics aims to increase attention to these topics within the Sustainable Development Goal for Universal Health Coverage. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.

The RSC announced a total of 87 new Fellows who were elected by their peers for outstanding scholarly, scientific and artistic achievement, and another 50 as members of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists across Canada.
