SUMMARY:Applied Math Colloquium | Michael Fisher\, Optimal Constrained Cont
rol\nand Nonlinear Stability Analysis for Complex Systems
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Complex systems consist of a collection of devices with local d
ynamics\nand control that are coupled by physical or cyber networks. Examp
les\ninclude the electrical power grid\, communication systems\, and netwo
rks\nof mobile robots and autonomous vehicles. Such systems provide\nessen
tial services to society but are notoriously challenging to\nanalyze or co
ntrol due to their large scale and complexity. The talk\nwill discuss new
methods to enable safe\, reliable\, and desired\noperation of complex syst
 ems.
