SUMMARY:Graduate Student Seminar | MacKenzie Cameron\, Spatial and Temporal
 \nDiscounting in a Coupled Social-Climate Model
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:The standard technique of presenting climate change in the medi
a is\nthrough 'distant framing'\, which removes the general public from\nc
limate change issues. This common method of portraying the negative\neffec
ts of climate change as \"there and later\" reduces an\nindividual’s mot
ivation to mitigate \"here and now\". In my research I\nimplement the beha
viour of devaluing future and further climate\nconditions into a social-cl
imate model\, which dynamically couples\nhuman behaviour with a simplified
  Earth System Model.
