Applied mathematics professor Chris Bauch releases new paper on AI and tipping points

Chris Bauch, an applied mathematics professor and University Research Chair, recently published a paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) on new research related to a deep learning algorithm capable of detecting and predicting tipping points.

Kirsten Morris awarded Faculty of Mathematics Research Chair

The Faculty of Mathematics has named Kirsten Morris as one of its Research Chairs for the 2021-2022 academic year. 

The award recognizes exceptional scholarly achievement and outstanding contributions to a field of knowledge. Some of the most prolific scholars in the Faculty of Mathematics have held Research Chairs, and Morris continues the trend of excellence.
