Grand Opening of Studio One

Studio One showcases student exhibition

On November 30, 2018, the first Architectural Engineering Studio One was officially opened and guests were invited to view the state-of-the-art classroom, studio and makers space. First-year AE students were also invited to showcase their final projects as part of a student exhibition at the opening.

Architectural Engineering Design Days

“Design Days” is a unique two-day event held during Orientation Week, for new Architectural Engineering students. Students are given the opportunity to solve a challenging, open-ended problem by brainstorming, designing and constructing a solution in collaboration with their new classmates.  The aim of the event is to engage students in “design from Day 1”, and create an experiential learning environment where students are given the freedom to explore creative ideas whilst also drawing on the resources of experienced faculty, staff, technicians and upper-year students, for guidance.

Warrior Home battles it out for first place

Warrior Home has successfully placed first in the 2018 U.S. Department of Energy Race to Zero Attached Housing Competition. This is the first time the University of Waterloo has entered the competition which makes their achievement all the more remarkable.
