The Evidence Room opens at the Venice Architecture Biennale

The University of Waterloo School of Architecture contributed The Evidence Room to the international exhibition "Reporting from the Front," curated by Alejandro Aravena for the 15th Architecture Biennale.

The Evidence Room examines the role of architecture in the Holocaust, and was organized by principals Anne Bordeleau, Sascha Hastings, Donald McKay and Robert Jan van Pelt. Team members included Siobhan Allman, Piper Bernbaum, Anna Beznogova, Anna Longrigg, Michael Nugent, Bradley Paddock, and Alexandru Vilcu.

Evelyn Hofmann to receive 2016 Arthur Erickson Travel Study Award

Architecture graduate student Evelyn Hofmann has been selected by the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) jury to receive this year’s Arthur Erickson Travel Study Award. Established by the RCA, Arthur Erickson Foundation (AEF), and Erickson Family (EF), Ms. Hofmann was chosen from a group of highly talented and skilled applicants, as it was felt that her work was most in tune with Arthur Erickson’s philosophy and worldview.
