Engineering mourns the loss of a beloved Dean

Pearl Sullivan, former Dean of Engineering at the University of Waterloo and the first woman to hold the position, died on November 28 after a 12-year battle with cancer.

Passionate about supporting students, she was dedicated to ensuring they had a full understanding of engineering principles as well as the tools and facilities they needed to succeed.

Alison Brooks Architects named Dezeen Architect of the Year 2020

Congratulations to Waterloo Architecture alumnus Alison Brooks and Alison Brooks Architects! 

Winner of architect of the year at Dezeen Awards 2020, Alison Brooks Architects is a London-based studio of architects, thinkers and 3D designers from around the world, led by Alison Brooks.

Every project is the result of invested research, so that the studio's design solutions emerge as unique and relevant to the constituencies they serve.

A ‘Hybrid Holism’ Iris van Herpen dress inspired by the 2010 Hylozoic Ground Venice Biennale project is on the cover of the Met’s publicity.
