Andrea Atkins is a lecturer in Architectural Engineering in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo, and teaches structural courses at the School of Architecture. Previously, she was a structural designer at Blackwell Structural Engineers in Toronto. She obtained her Master of Architecture at the University of Waterloo in 2013 and her Master of Engineering at the University of Toronto in 2018. Her interests span across design and technical disciplines, including architecture, building science, structural design, and sustainability. She is passionate about the production of the best buildings possible: for the occupants and for the planet, by improved cross disciplinary education and communication.
