Day Two: Thursday, October 31, 2019
Depart from: Piazza Trilussa (Trastevere side of the Ponte Sisto)
Time: 8:00 am
We will travel by bus from Rome to Tivoli. In the morning half the group will visit Villa D’Este, Pirro Ligorio’s magnificent 16th Century water garden with Dr. Anne Bordeleau, O’Donovan Director of the School of Architecture.
The other half will visit the “passionate remains” of Hadrian’s Villa with Rick Haldenby.
The groups will switch in the afternoon.
Lunch is available in the town of Tivoli for both groups.
Buffet Dinner on the Terrazza Caffarelli
Location: Piazzale Caffarelli, 4 Capitoline Hill, 00186 Roma RM, Italy
Time: 7:30 – 11:30 pm
The Caffarelli Terrace is located on the Capitoline Hill, on the roof of the Capitoline Museum, overlooking the both the ancient and the baroque city. This is a spectacular venue for a celebration, very close to the point where we begin the Rome Program each year.
The event will last the entire evening. There will be plenty of food and refreshments. There will be ample time to enjoy the view and catch up with other Rome Program graduates and their families.
