SUMMARY:AI seminar: A sober look at clustering stability
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: David Pal\n\nStability is a common tool to verify the
validity of sample based\nalgorithms. In clustering it is widely used to t
une the parameters of\nthe algorithm\, such as the number k of clusters. I
n spite of the\npopularity of stability in practical applications\, there
has been very\nlittle theoretical analysis of this notion. In this paper w
e provide a\nformal definition of stability and analyze some of its basic\
 nproperties.
