Apply for Residence

Submit your Residence Community Ranking Form and deposit before June 1 to guarantee a room in an on-campus residence. Be sure to check out our page about University Colleges.

Start connecting with your advisors! Speaking with your academic advisor on a regular basis can be very beneficial to your academic success. Students coming into Honours Arts, Arts and Business, or Liberal Studies will have one Advisor. After first year when you declare your major you'll have a new major Advisor.

Course Selection

Submit the Course Approval Form before midnight on June 14, 2019. Transfer students please refer to the transfer students page for specific instructions.

OSAP Application

2019-20 OSAP application forms will be available mid-June. The OSAP Confirmation of Enrolment process will continue regularly throughout the term. It takes approximately 7 business days for funding to be deposited to your bank account.

Email activation

Beginning June 27, all messages from the University of Waterloo will be sent to your new Waterloo Email address. After this date, you must activate your UWaterloo email account.

ARTS 101 Event Day

Attend this event on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 to learn more about getting ready to study in the Faculty of Arts. You can speak with your professors and advisors; meet some of your classmates, and some upper-year students at this event. Registration is now available on Portal using the Orientation widget.

First, prepare a list of your top ten ARTS 130 and 140 topics of interest for the fall term. Next, add one of these course topics in Quest starting July 18. The Arts First courses selection page has detailed instructions. Please note: if you’re a transfer student starting in level 2A or above, your academic advisor has already been in touch by email with different instructions.

Residence contracts will be sent to your @edu.uwaterloo.ca email account starting in July and running until as late as the end of August 2019. You must accept the residence contract by the assigned deadline specified on your contract. If you are living in a University College residence, you will receive your residence contract in June.
