  1. Aug. 13, 2019 [Isthd] git.uwaterloo.ca upgrade – Phase 1, August 20-22

    What is happening?  The University’s version control system, git.uwaterloo.ca, will undergo a two-phase upgrade, beginning with an update from version 8.1.5 to version 10.8.7. Phase 2 will follow in the coming months and will include both an update to GitLab 12 and a significant change to the API.

    When is this happening? From Tuesday August 20, 5:00 p.m. to Thursday August 22, 8:00 a.m. git.uwaterloo.ca will be unavailable during the upgrade window.

  2. Aug. 12, 2019[Isthd] Update: Changes to employee user grouping in WatIAM - August 15

    What is happening? The grouping of faculty, staff, temporary employees, and casual employees in WatIAM and Nexus is changing due to associated Workday group changes.

  3. Aug. 8, 2019[Isthd] Increase in financial spear phishing attempts on campus – August 7

    What is happening? Over the August long weekend, there was a significant increase in the number of financial spear phishing attempts directed at University employees.   

    What is Finphishing? A form of phishing done for financial gain, finphishing attempts to have the victim transfer cash or easily converted gift cards to the attacker.
