ACO offices are in the Psychology-Anthropology-Sociology building (PAS).

  1. June 13, 2018[Isthd] Email from @uwaterloo.ca blacklisted - June 13

    What is happening?

    Some @uwaterloo.ca email accounts were compromised, the result of which has caused @uwaterloo.ca to be blacklisted.

    What is the impact?

    Email will not be lost but may be delayed or bounce to sender. Users may receive messages similar to those below.

    What is happening?

    The IST security team has been made aware of a phishing attempt being sent to several University of Waterloo email accounts. If you receive an email with the subject line “University of Waterloo Security Service” please do not click on any links within the message and be sure to delete the email. IST is investigating to determine a way to prevent further emails from reaching users.

  3. May 16, 2018[Isthd] New website: Two-factor authentication

    A message from Information Systems & Technology (IST)

    IST is pleased to announce the launch of the Two-factor Authentication (2FA) website. Powered by DUO, two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to university accounts. Verifying your identity using a second factor (such as your mobile device) prevents others from accessing your accounts, even if they know your password.
