Given Arts has a significant number of courses that either require or recommend the use of Adobe applications, we had to look for better price points, a term option for those students (all UW students) and to a lesser degree staff and faculty. Just as important, we were informed by Adobe that Shared device licenses were not to be used through an RDP session.
The cost of our Adobe CC academic year lease is $179 annually, roughly 45% less than the OnTheHub (or Tier4 VIP rates) currently $329 annually (savings of $150). These licenses can be installed on any number of devices, with the caveat that only one license can be active at any given time.
These Adobe CC (named user) licenses renew each year on September 7th and can also be purchased for a term lease (students only). Any faculty, staff or student are eligible to purchase an Adobe CC license (includes 23+ applications, see below).
If Arts staff require the software for tasks related to their role, which includes Acrobat since it is included in Adobe CC, please contact the ACO to obtain the software.
Retail Services is managing the majority of the sales for the ACO, which can be paid by credit card, WatCard or departmental account number.
As well, it was released on the daily bulletin:
Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) is a set of applications and services from Adobe Inc. that gives subscribers access to a collection of software used for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography including: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD, Lightroom, Acrobat Pro, Animate, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush, After Effects, Dimension, Audition, InCopy, Lightroom Classic, Media Encoder, Character Animator, Prelude, Fuse, Bridge and access to the latest features and updates as soon as they are released.
======================= NOTE =======================
The ACO is also offering bulk (5+ licenses) transfers with the goal that your own technical staff can manage your own Adobe enterprise interface, providing your administrator the ability to release or turn-off access to those specific licenses. These bulk transfers are at a lower cost per unit through departmental account transfer and also don’t include tax.
